A warm midsummer’s night, a crimson sunset, some electric performances and a picturesque setting overlooking the grounds of an 11th century estate – Boconnoc’s Music in the Park is definitely one to circle on the events calendar.
Every year the stately Boconnoc Park hosts an array of not-to-be missed events including the Spring Flower Show, known locally as the ‘Chelsea of the West’. The majestic music concert is the epitome of Cornish chic. Think saxophone melodies wrapping round the trees, the smell of freshly cut grass and picnic blankets dotted with quintessentially English jugs of Pimms and Cornish cream teas.
This charity event in aid of Children’s Hospice South West’s ‘Precious Lives Appeal’ is back this summer and bigger than ever. Featuring music by the UK’s longest running Status Quo tribute act Counterfeit Quo, Soul to Soul and the Jumping Out Jazz Band, it promises to be a toe tapping, hip swinging showcase of talent.
Tucked away down peaceful country lanes, Boconnoc remains one of Cornwall’s hidden gems. The picturesque coastal town of Fowey, a 30 minute scenic drive from the gardens is a great base for a relaxing short break. Enjoy the best of both worlds by sight-seeing around the historic fishing village by day and being wowed by the musical extravaganza at night. Try The Old Quay House luxury hotel in Fowey for a tranquil place to rest your head after the festivities.
Music in the Park tickets are available from the Boconnoc booking line on 01726 819290.
