Daphne du Maurier Festival

Looking to return to Fowey this Spring?

Have you attended the renowned Daphne du Maurier Festival? This star-studded 11 day event takes place in Fowey every May and this year will be held from 9th to 20th. With the likes of Julian Clary, Sir Trevor McDonald and Fern Britton appearing, it promises to showcase Fowey like you’ve never seen it before.

For the first time ever, come and experience Daphne’s ‘little sister’ festival ‘Sunnyside’ taking place across the estuary in Polruan, a stone’s throw from The Old Quay House Hotel. Catch the ferry from the historic town quay to Fowey’s smaller sibling, not forgetting to look for ‘Flipper’ the resident dolphin peeking out of the water.

During this springtime extravaganza, experience everything from moody jazz and side-splitting comedy to interesting literary talks and the latest book recommendations from Richard and Judy.  Finish the day off on the hotel’s terrace, sipping on our signature Daphne cocktail, exclusively available during the festival.

The festival promises to deliver a lively and artistic show combined with a vibrant atmosphere and a whole host of famous faces. You’ll love this energetic side to Fowey. Amongst the hustle and bustle we’re the idyllic sanctuary on the water close to the action but with a grown up touch of glamour.

As always rooms are in demand, so don’t miss the boat! Contact us on the usual number 01726 833302.
