Food Fight: The vital statistics

Our head chef Richard and Tim from our sister hotel The Rosevine will square up for culinary showdowns on 23 February and 30 March, cooking for packed restaurants across home and away legs at each hotel.

Each chef will prepare two courses at each hotel, before votes are cast and an ultimate champion declared.

The lowdown on Burns Night with our head chef Richard

On 25 January, our head chef Richard will be taking inspiration from his roots with a Scottish-themed menu in celebration of Burns Night.

Richard, who was born in Scotland and worked there for many years, has developed a seven course tasting menu of Scottish classics, with whisky pairings.

Unmissable events at Fowey Regatta

One of the highlights of the year, the annual Fowey Royal Regatta festival runs from Sunday 14th to Sunday the 20th August. The event calendar is bustling with a carnival, contests and firework displays, accompanying one of Britain’s top sailing events which guests can enjoy for free. The Regatta has a history of attracting rather famous faces to the event over the years, including Queen Victoria, Prince Albert and Queen Elizabeth the second, hence the name, ‘Royal’.

Literary & Arts Festivals

Fowey is a town steeped in history, bearing associations with the literary world due to its once-residing novelist, Daphne Du Maurier. Daphne spent many childhood holidays near Fowey, and in her adult life relocated to the beautiful town from London, continuing to write and gaining inspiration from Fowey and its surrounding area.
